Joe and Nya’s wedding day kicked off at the historic Drury Plaza Hotel in downtown Cleveland. The building was formerly the Cleveland Board of Education, and it has since been completely preserved and renovated into a great hotel in the heart of the city. After their individual preparations alongside their attendants, Joe and Nya had their first look on a balcony on the second level of the Drury. Throughout the day, Nya and her bridesmaids all carried bouquets of ferns, succulents, and other beautiful greenery (that were also present as centerpieces at their reception).
From downtown, the wedding party and all the guests headed to the Cleveland Museum of Natural History for the ceremony and reception. We’re not sure if the fact the Nya is an entomologist had anything to do with the choice of location, but they certainly embraced their surroundings. Each table featured gold dinosaurs with the table numbers, and their gorgeous wedding cake even featured a dinosaur cake topper. Just before the wedding ceremony itself, both families met to sign the ketubah, and Joe was also presented with a gold pocket watch that has been a family heirloom passed down for many, many years.
After the ceremony and a wonderful dinner, Kyle Primous & K Street from the Cleveland Music Group provided the live entertainment for the dancing and celebrating that lasted long into the night. We had a wonderful time being part of Joe and Nya’s special day, and we wish them great happiness in their new life together!
